Designed for serious acoustic guitarists, the 600B series strings combine superior tone, high-performance durability, and a sleek playing experience.
Key Features:
Rich, Balanced Tone
Crafted from a unique Phosphor Bronze 92/8 alloy (92% copper, 8% tin), these strings deliver a warm, resonant sound with deep bass and an enhanced midrange presence—ideal for fingerstyle and expressive acoustic techniques.
Smooth Black Coated Finish
Each string is treated with a black protective coating, ensuring an exceptionally smooth feel, reduced string noise, and a consistent playing experience across the fretboard.
Superior Protection & Longevity
The advanced coating technology resists acidic fingerprint buildup and hand oils, preventing premature wear and extending string life. Musicians can enjoy up to 3–4 times more playing time compared to standard uncoated strings.
Even Coating Application
Every string is evenly coated for uniform tension and response, ensuring balanced tone and feel from low E to high e.
Who These Are For:
Fingerstyle players needing pronounced midrange clarity
Performers wanting a warm, full-bodied tone
Players seeking long-lasting strings with less frequent replacement Guitarists who want a unique stealth-black aesthetic
Black Coated String Care Guide:
Keep your 600B strings sounding their best with these simple steps:
Wipe After Each Use
Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently clean the strings after playing. This removes oils and moisture that can affect tone and lifespan.
Avoid Harsh Cleaners
Use string cleaning products that are specifically safe for coated strings. Avoid alcohol-based or abrasive cleaners that can damage the black coating.
Wash Hands Before Playing
Clean hands reduce the buildup of sweat, oil, and grime—one of the most common causes of string corrosion.
Store Properly
Keep your instrument in a temperature- and humidity-controlled case when not in use to protect both the strings and the guitar itself.
Know When to Replace
Signs of wear (coating flaking, tone dullness, buildup that won’t wipe off) indicate it’s time for a fresh set.
Black Diamond String Care and Handling Instructions
We recommend taking special care while installing the black-coated strings on your guitar. While drawing the strings through the bridge, be sure not to let them scrape along the sides of the hole as this may take the coating off. Likewise, take care when drawing the strings through the hole on the machine head.
The materials underneath the black-coating may also begin to show through when the strings begin to wear.
This helps give an indication of when to change the strings. However, wear along the area that comes in contact with the pick is absolutely normal even in brand new sets. The black poly coating protects the areas that come in contact with your hands the most: the heel of your picking hand and the hand that frets the strings. The poly coating helps protect those areas against dirt and grime that builds up over time giving the strings a longer life.

600 SERIES BLACK COATED PHOSPHOR BRONZE
I was listening to Church Street Blues by Tony Rice, and heard the line "I wish I had some guitar strings old black diamond brand I'd string up this old Martin box" so I decided to try a set. I had never heard of them so I asked my 90 year old uncle about them. He used them when he was young. I love these strings. They look great, sound great and are for some reason easier to tune.
