Andrew Irvine Artist Bio Andrew Irvine is best known for his driving bass grooves, huge tone, ferocious soloing and song writing skills. His vast experience performing on the road and in the studio find him equally at home holding down thick fundamental support lines, ripping off aggressive bass solos and all points between. He has been influenced by funk, soul, blues, Jazz, gospel and various rock styles of music. With a playful musical personality and dynamic presence on the stage, Andrew radiates with passion and love for his craft.

As a top call freelance side man/session musician Irvine spends a great deal of time performing on the road and in the studio with various artists covering a wide range of styles. Andy is currently touring and performing live with: Mississippi based piano virtuoso Eden Brent, Colorado based blues duo- The Jelly Roll Bakers, his own funky blues act-Andrew Irvine Group, and Project Mind Flip-his ever changing line up of funky musicians playing in the funk/rock/jam band style His history also includes national touring with such groups as On The One, Giant People and co-founding the south Florida "futuristic groove trio" Beanstalk. Andrew has contributed his solid bass work to 50 albums with national and international artists ranging from legendary cult troubadour Tiny Tim to the intense and bazaar shock rocker GG Allin thus far in his career.

 

Irvine was featured in an interview/article on soloing in the March 2009 issue of Bass Player Magazine, the magazine refers to him as a "soloist sensation". Since launching his clinic series in 2009 Andrew has presented 35 bass clinics nationally, appeared at both the 2009 and 2010 Bass Player Live events held in LA. In 2012 25+ clinics are slated with Warwick and EMG as sponsors.

Andrew's debut solo album "Soul Clap" was released in June 2009. The album, comprised completely of his original compositions features his unique and diverse styles in both bass and electric guitar. In addition he produced and released Soul Clap independently.

 

Nov 2011 marks the release of Irvine's second alum 'Can't Slow Down" The new album can be best described as a fun blend of soul,funk,and blues. Andy's composed the music and lyrics to all ten songs and produced the album. Irvine sings 5 songs,in addition to playing all the bass, he also played most of the guitars, and all the percussion on the album.

 

In March 2012 The Andrew Irvine Group will tour 6 countries throughout Europe in support of "Can't Slow Down" 2012 will mark the launching of Andy's high profile educational clinic series with Warwick/EMG sponsoring, titeld-The Warwick Sound Of Bass - Clinic Tour.

 

Throughout 2012 the tour will hit 25 cities across the entire USA, in each city there will be a massive promotion and thousands of dollars worth of FREE giveaways including Warwick basses, amps, and strings, EMG pickups and much more..
